10 YEARS OF ALOH
After traveling the world and experiencing the vibrant, welcoming hostels of Europe and Asia, we realized that Hawaii was missing a special space for solo travelers—a place where they could experience the island through the eyes of a local, feel like family, and connect with others. We saw the magic of those communities—the curiosity, the adventure, the friendships—and we knew we could bring that spirit to Hawaii.
So, we built it. In 2014, we founded Crony Inc., our Hawaii-based hotel consulting company, and set the vision in motion. Inspired by the incredible young travelers we met along the way, we wanted to share the beauty of Hawaii and the true essence of the 'Aloha spirit' with the world. This led to the birth of our first hostel, The Beach Waikiki Hostel—a space where strangers quickly became friends, and everyone was embraced as ohana.
For us, it has always been about more than just a bed to sleep in. It’s about creating moments that go beyond the guidebooks and into the heart of the island. Our mission is to show you Oahu’s iconic spots and hidden gems, all while helping you experience the island in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
Today, ALOH is so much more than we ever imagined. From three vibrant hostels in Waikiki to our beloved ALOH Health Bar and Café, we’ve built a community that continues to grow and evolve. We’re so grateful to be a part of so many incredible journeys, and we remain committed to spreading the Aloha spirit far beyond Hawaii’s shores—one traveler, one connection, and one unforgettable experience at a time.

The future of ALOH is full of exciting possibilities, and we can’t wait to share them with you! In April 2025, we’re taking a big step by transforming Seaside Hostel into an all-women’s space—a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment for women from all walks of life to connect and thrive.
We’re also dreaming bigger than ever. New hostels are on the horizon, each one a place where travelers can feel at home while exploring the magic of Hawaii. But we’re not stopping there. We’re building new ways to support young and creative minds—spaces where ideas can grow, connections can spark, and inspiration flows freely.
